To analyze the work of five contemporary visual artists (Tehching Hsieh, Francis Alÿs, William Pope.L, Roni Horn, Sharon Hayes) using J. L. Austin's speech act theory, J. Derrida's thoughts on Archive Fever and the derive, a methodology set forward by the Situationist International.
